I have been an active contributor to The River newspaper, where I have written a diverse range of articles, primarily focusing on politics. My work spans from hard-hitting news stories to in-depth features that offer a fresh perspective on current events.

Alongside working on the Southwest London newspaper, I also contributed to the creation of the film magazine, Roll Credits. Writing for this magazine allowed me to share my enthusiasm for film while digging into the unique and groundbreaking aspects of the industry.

I had the opportunity to contribute to the creation of Roll Credits, a film magazine that allowed me to combine my love for film with my passion for writing. In the magazine, I focused on stories surrounding the Dogme 95 movement, Quentin Tarantino, and other influential filmmakers and film trends. Writing for Roll Credits gave me the chance to dive deep into the world of cinema, exploring its history, impact, and the people behind some of the most iconic films. Film has always been a passion of mine, and being able to write about it in such a detailed and thoughtful way was both fulfilling and exciting. Through Roll Credits, I was able to share my enthusiasm for film with others while digging into the unique and often groundbreaking aspects of the industry.

One of the projects I worked on this year focused on capturing the experience of second-generation immigrants from Iraq. I interviewed two young women, both of whom had Iraqi parents but had no direct connection to the country itself. I wanted to explore what it’s like to come from a place you know so little about. My main question was: When do they feel the most Iraqi, and what do they do to stay connected to their roots? This was a multimedia project, incorporating images, videos, text, and graphics to tell their stories. The project is called Finding Home.
